About the school
எங்கள் பள்ளியைப் பற்றி
Government Boys Higher Secondary School has served Komarapalayam since 1953 under the Department of School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Seven decades on Bhavani Road
Established in 1953, Government Boys Higher Secondary School is one of the oldest institutions in Komarapalayam— a town known across Tamil Nadu for its handloom and powerloom weaving. Generations of weavers' sons have studied here, many becoming the first graduates in their families.
The school is managed by the Department of School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, and runs classes from 6th to 12th standard in Tamil medium, with English taught as a core subject. With a student–teacher ratio of about 29:1, our teachers know every student by name.
As a government school, education here is completely free — including textbooks, uniforms and the mid-day meal — so that no boy in our town is denied schooling for want of money.

A word to parents

Our school has stood in this town for more than seventy years. In that time the looms have changed, the roads have changed, but our promise has not: any boy who walks through our gate will be taught, fed and looked after — at no cost to his family.
We ask only one thing of parents: send your son to school every single day. Attendance is the one thing we cannot supply for you, and it decides everything else.
